Dealmaker Playbook

How to work your network and close, without the hard sell.

Introductions, Not Pitches.

You don't need a script or a sales pitch to be an effective Dealmaker. You need to know your network, know what's live, and know how to make one good introduction at a time.

Map Your Network First

Before you reach out to anyone, match what's live to who in your network actually needs it. A relevant introduction lands; a generic one gets ignored.

  • Strategic Foresight suits leaders wrestling with long-range planning or scenario risk.
  • Chief Strategy Officers suits senior strategy, transformation or planning executives.
  • Strategic Leadership Programme suits managers stepping into, or growing into, senior leadership.
  • In-house and group training suits organisations with a whole team or department to upskill.
  • Consulting projects suit organisations facing a specific strategic, structural or change challenge.

Starting the Conversation

The best introductions don't feel like sales pitches, because they aren't. Use this sequence:

  1. Notice — listen for the moment: a challenge they've mentioned, a new role, a team about to grow or restructure.
  2. Mention — bring it up naturally, as something that might help, not something you're selling.
  3. Offer — send the specific detail — what it is, when, what it costs — and offer to make the connection. Let them decide.

“That actually reminds me of a programme I came across — might be useful for what you're dealing with.”

Handling the Honest Questions

A good introduction survives scrutiny. Here's how to handle the questions that come up:

“Is this legit?”

Peakford Group delivers accredited training and consulting, with clients including government departments. You're introducing them to an established provider, not an unknown product.

“What does it cost?”

Always quote the real investment amount up front, from the current Live Deals list. Never round down or promise a discount you can't confirm.

“Why are you telling me this?”

Be straightforward: you're an independent Dealmaker and you earn a commission when someone books through you. Being upfront about that costs you nothing and protects the relationship — most people respect the honesty far more than they'd ever mind the commission.

From Interest to Close

You don't have to close the deal yourself — that's DoDealX's job. Your job is the introduction.

  1. Confirm real interest — a genuine “yes, tell me more” or “yes, book me,” not just polite acknowledgement.
  2. Share the exact details — programme, dates, location and price, straight from the current Live Deals list.
  3. Hand off — email deal@dodealx.com with your contact's details so the booking and paperwork are handled, and the referral is logged against your name.
  4. Confirm and get paid — once the booking is confirmed and paid, your commission follows automatically.

Do's and Don'ts

Do

  • Be selective — a handful of well-matched contacts beats a mass message.
  • Be upfront if you're asked whether you earn commission.
  • Follow up once, respectfully, then let it go.
  • Log every introduction with DoDealX so your commission is tracked.

Don't

  • Mass-message your entire contact list.
  • Oversell, exaggerate outcomes, or promise a discount you haven't confirmed.
  • Pressure a contact who's said no.
  • Go quiet after the introduction — stay reachable if they have questions.
